At Castle 5 Studios, sustainability isn’t a trend—it’s embedded in the way we work, create, and collaborate. Environmental responsibility guides our decisions across design, production, and partnerships. We believe that beautiful design and conscious practice should go hand in hand, and we hold ourselves to high standards to ensure our work reflects that balance.
Terrazzo, born of ingenuity in 15th-century Venice, was created by craftsmen who repurposed discarded marble fragments into durable, beautifully crafted surfaces. We carry forward that legacy by using terrazzo composed of recycled content, including marble offcuts, glass, and other reclaimed post-industrial materials. This not only diverts waste from landfills, but also reduces the demand for newly quarried stone and lowers our overall environmental impact.
Many of our processes are backed by globally recognized certifications that reflect responsible sourcing, low-emission production, and reduced energy use. We’re continuously investing in cleaner technologies, smarter logistics, and sustainable design methods that align with our values.
For us, sustainability is not an add-on—it’s a standard. From the materials we select to the relationships we build, it shapes everything we do.
Certificates
The mission of the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) is to protect the health and ensure of the high living standards by improving indoor air quality and reducing people's exposure to chemicals and other pollutants. Castle 5 Studios products are Greenguard Gold certified.
Castle 5 Studios products can contribute to earning credits for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, a globally recognized system for assessing environmentally sustainable buildings. Adopted in over 165 countries, LEED ensures that buildings are designed and constructed using strategies that enhance energy efficiency, water conservation, CO₂ emissions reduction, indoor air quality, and resource management, all verified through third-party certification.
The Declare label aims to position the construction products sector within a transparent materials economy, allowing it to showcase its commitment and provide consumers with clear, honest information for informed product selection.
Castle 5 Studios products can contribute to earning credits for WELL Building Standard™ certification, a performance-based system designed to enhance human health and well-being in the spaces where we live, work, learn, and play. By focusing on design, operations, and behavioral strategies, WELL certification highlights the impact of buildings on overall well-being. WELL-certified spaces promote a healthier environment, supporting improved efficiency, mood, and overall wellness for occupants.
All Castle 5 Studios products are NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) certified—an independent, nonprofit organization that assesses and verifies the safety and suitability of materials for food contact. The NSF mark is internationally recognized as a symbol of high safety and quality standards.
Through LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) studies and the development of EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) for all product lines, Castle 5 Studios is committed to transparency by providing a clear overview of its products' characteristics and their impact on resources and the environment. This assessment considers every stage of the product lifecycle, including raw material extraction, processing, manufacturing, transportation, usage, and end-of-life management.
